The Number-Rhyme Peg System

Expand your memory capacity from 10 to 20 items

Introduction to Number-Rhyme System

This system builds on the shape pegs you've already learned, doubling your memory capacity:

"I've used this system to recall information for over 4 years, only requiring repetition once every six months, with 100% recall accuracy."

How the Number-Rhyme System Works

This method turns numbers into rhyming words that serve as memory pegs:

  1. Find words that rhyme with each number (0-9)
  2. Create vivid mental images for each rhyming word
  3. Associate items you want to remember with these images
  4. Combine with the shape pegs for double the capacity

Create Your Number-Rhyme Pegs

For each number 0-9, choose a rhyming word and create a vivid mental image:

0 - Hero

Rhymes: hero, zero

Think of a well-known superhero (Superman, Wonder Woman, etc.)

Your image:

1 - Gun

Rhymes: gun, sun, bun

Choose your favorite rhyming image (shining sun, hamburger bun, etc.)

Your image:

2 - Shoe

Rhymes: shoe, glue, blue

Imagine a specific shoe (high heels, sneakers) or pot of glue

Your image:

3 - Tree

Rhymes: tree, bee, key

Picture a specific tree (oak, palm) or a buzzing bee

Your image:

4 - Door

Rhymes: door, jaw, saw

Visualize a specific door (castle, red front door) or a shark's jaw

Your image:

5 - Hive

Rhymes: hive, jive, dive

Imagine a beehive, dancing (jive), or a diving board

Your image:

6 - Sticks

Rhymes: sticks, bricks, ticks

Picture bundle of sticks, stack of bricks, or ticking clock

Your image:

7 - Heaven

Rhymes: heaven, oven

Visualize clouds/angels or a kitchen oven

Your image:

8 - Gate

Rhymes: gate, skate, plate

Imagine an iron gate, roller skates, or dinner plate

Your image:

Rhymes: vine, wine, sign

Picture grape vines, wine bottle, or neon sign

Using Your Rhyme Pegs

Now you have two peg systems working together:

  1. Shape Pegs: 0-9 based on number shapes
  2. Rhyme Pegs: 0-9 based on rhyming words
  3. Total Capacity: 20 items (10 shape + 10 rhyme)

To remember a list of 20 items:

Memory Elements Reminder

Remember to incorporate these elements for strongest memories:

Congratulations!

You've now expanded your memory capacity to 20 items! With this system you can:

"Practice remembering random items and lists using these pegs. Impress your friends and yourself with your new abilities!"
